The Qur'an is the sacred book of Islam and the perfect word of God for the Muslim. It is claimed that the Qur'an was dictated in Arabic by the angel Gabriel to Muhammad and were God's precise words.
The Qur'an is about four-fifths the length of the New Testament and is divided into 114 "surahs" or chapters.
The Qur'an was supposedly told to Muhammad over a time of 23 years by Angel Gabriel. Starting on December 22nd, 609 C.E.(Common Existence) and ending in 632 C.E.

Birth- Born around 570 C.E. Death-He died in the evening of the twelfth of Rabi, June 8th, 632 C.E.
His life- He was born in a family belonging to the clan Quraish, ruling tribe of Mecca. His dad died before he was born and his mother died when he was 6. Raised by his uncle, Abu Talib. In his 20's he married a merchant named Khadijah, they had two sons, and 4 daughters. In his 40's he started to meditate in a cave on Mount Hira, outside of Mecca. One day, as he was sitting in the cave, he heard a voice, later identified as that of the Angel Gabriel. Through Angel Gabriel the Qur'an was made.
